Sample cover letter for Internship position at Body Shop
Re: Your Customer Relationship Management Placement Opportunity
In response to your job placement posting at the Brighton Business School Placements list, I am a second year student pursuing a degree in BSc Business Management with Finance at University of Brighton. I am looking for a placement in which my academic and non-academic experience can be put into practice, especially in a role, such as Customer Relations Management at your company.
Body Shop is a very well reputed and a market-leading cosmetic organisation worldwide with a well known ethical background. Having thoroughly researched your website, it attracted me how your organisation is a customer orientated organisation and believes that the business of a business is not all about money but it is about considering and taking responsibility of the public.
Customer relationship management (CRM) is a growing sector in the business environment. For a business to be able to satisfy their customers needs and wants, they should engage in CRM as it enables a company to identify the groups of buyers that exist and which type of customers are the best to be targeted by the company. With the involvement of marketing in my course, I became interested in the sector CRM, it gave me an insight on how CRM affects the business world overall and managed to convince me that it is a career option I would like to explore.
With my experience as a sales assistant, it taught me the importance of establishing customers’ needs and providing clear and accurate information in response to those needs. When the situation demanded it, I was always able to manage myself well, take the initiative, work under pressure and according to time constraints.
I believe I meet all of the requirements outlined for the post as the nature of my degree has prepared me for this position. As a Business Management student, I have used research and analysis skills throughout my degree which has taught me how to manage my time effectively, use all resources available and enforce my organisational and self motivational skills to be used. I have undertaken a module in IT which has helped me understand how vital the role of technology is in today’s business environment which I believe will be very useful in this role.
I work well in environments in which there are new challenges and opportunities to tackle everyday which is the reason I believe I could fit easily into your organisation. I am hoping to apply the knowledge I have acquired into your workplace and am keen to work for a company with a great reputation and high profile such as The Body Shop.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

The Body Shop Application Process
Before you can apply for a job at The Body Shop, you will need to create an account on their hiring website. Creating an account is simple, and will only take you a minute or so. All told, The Body Shop application is very applicant-friendly. If you already have your resume prepared, you should be able to complete the entire application in about fifteen minutes.
During the application, you will be asked to provide the following information: your name, email address, home address, phone number, date of birth, and social security number. If you are unsure about any of this information (not all of us have our social security numbers memorized), take a minute to prepare it before you start the application process.
At this point in the application, you will have the opportunity to upload (or paste) your resume and cover letter. Providing these documents is not required (you can apply without them if you wish), but we would highly recommend attaching them. It can be really hard to stand out on a standard job application, and a well-crafted resume and cover letter can help you show yourself in the best light.
Additionally, if you choose not to provide a resume and cover letter, your application will appear to be incomplete to the hiring manager. That is not the type of impression that you will want to make. So if you don’t have a resume prepared, this would be a good opportunity to work on one.
Once your resume and cover letter are uploaded, you will only need to complete a brief equal opportunity questionnaire before your application is ready to submit.
By submitting your application to The Body Shop, you are consenting to a pre-employment background check. Any employment offer you receive will be contingent upon passing this background check.
You are also consenting to a drug test by submitting your application to The Body Shop. If you receive an employment offer, you must pass the drug test before you will be officially employed.
